5 Things To Ask A Photo Booth Company Before You Hire ThemWhat are your fees?
We receive a lot of inquires every day and sometimes customers let us know that they've found a lower price on a Groupon or Thumbtack deal. Later they find out that the initial quote they received didn't include all the extra "junk" fees. Some of these companies are charging fees for mileage, delivery, setup/take down, props, scrapbooks, USB drive, extra prints, etc. Our
Standard Package
rates are as flat as a Midwest cornfield, they are all inclusive, we will never charge you an extra fee. That means you can choose the
Standard Package
for any amount of hours and you'll have absolutely everything you need for an amazing experience!
Majority of our packages include delivery + setup + breakdown, unlimited photos, unlimited print-outs, access to all our entire prop collection, truly custom print-out graphics (made by our in house graphic designer), next day picture delivery and a friendly photo booth attendant. If you’d like extra fun stuff like social media packages, HD video recording, scrapbook stations or backdrops — that’s an extra small investment.
Other Items to Note:Photo booth rates vary based on talent, experience, service, coordination, equipment needed, and personality.
Rates for the photo booth industry vary greatly, ranging from $350.00 to over $1800.00 with an average of $1,200.00 for a 4 hour booking. The best price is not always the best deal, especially if you are planning a wedding or corporate event.
A full-service photo booth company will normally invest 10 to 15 hours to your special event but it may appear that you are only paying for “4 hours." Consultations, site surveys, prop preparation, custom photo print-out design, set-up and tear-down, education and other business related endeavors add up to the overall success of your special occasion.
Do you have references?
The best indicator of the future is the past. Employers, landlords, and others ask for references, why shouldn't you? This is your event and everything needs to run perfectly. Feel free to ask us for references or testimonials, we have plenty!
Do you have liability insurance?
We know, it's a photo booth, what could possibly happen? Nothing is going to happen, but the reality is most wedding venues require that outside services have liability insurance in place. This question will also separate the fly-by-night companies from the serious ones. Those who just run a photo booth business on the side will not be willing to pay the costs of having insurance. This is our only business, we live and breathe photo booths and are fully insured.
What is the quality of the photo booth? This is your special event, perhaps one of the most important days of your life, and everything needs to be perfect. The last thing you want is a beautiful reception area, with an ugly, makeshift photo booth in the corner. We have seen some interesting photo booths out there. Some appear to be homemade, constructed with painted wood, shower rods and curtains attached. We did a lot of research before deciding on the photo booths, backdrops, and props that we purchased. Our booths are elegant, classy and professionally constructed. We have had them at private estates, large-scale conventions and at the finest wedding venues in the DMV area. Outside of the booths we have a beautiful touch screen interface, where you can see yourself and the photos being taken.
What are the quality of the photos?
It may seem simple, but there is actually a lot that goes into capturing a high-quality photo in a photo booth. Ask the company to see examples of past photos. Do they appear dark, have a blue/yellow tint or is the camera flashing? Our photo booths have studio spectrum lighting, just like the lighting used at a professional photo shoot. This lighting insures that the photos are bright, rich and that the camera won't flash. No camera flash means no red eye or ghost images. Be sure to ask what kind of camera the booth features. You don't want to get there and find out that they have a iPhone for a camera. We employ a Canon Rebel DSLR camera with our printing photo booths and a top of the line 12.9" iPad Pro (with out digital booths) that takes awesome photos. Lastly, find out what kind of printer they use. We use a DNP dye-sublimation printer that prints beautiful black & white and color photos in about 8 seconds. Speaking of photos - remember - with A-list Photo Booths you usually get a truly custom-made print-out design specifically for YOU.
